Winter Poem
Glittering ice ponds are all around.
A pale white moon shines on the snow,
little white foxes creep down low.
But that's not all,
Christmas lights shine bright,
and soon presents fall down the chimney at midnight!
- A little poem with explains a lot about Winter!
Tortilla de Patatas
The Recipe for Tirtilla de Patatas is:
1 cup olive oil
four large potatos (peel and cut into small pieces about 2mm thick)
salt to taste
one large onion, thinly sliced
four large eggs.
This is how you make it :
Some people add thin slices of red pepper together with the onion.
Heat the oil in a 9-inch skillet, add potato pieces, one slice at a time so that they don't stick. Alternate layers of potato and onion. Cook slowly, medium flame. DO NOT FRY!! Turn occasionally until potatoes are tender, but NOT brown. They must be loose, not "in a cake".
Beat eggs in a large bowl with a fork. Salt to taste. Drain potatoes. Add potatoes to beaten eggs, pressing them so that eggs cover them completely. Let sit for 15 minutes. Heat 2 tbsps of the oil in large skillet. Add potato-egg mixture, spreading quickly. Lower the heat to medium-high. Shake pan to prevent sticking. When potatoes start to brown, put a plate on top skillet and flip to cook other side, adding another tbsp of oil. Brown on the other side. Can flip three or four times for better cooking.
I suggest everyone should try this !!
The Santa Clause
Investigating, Scott and Charlie find the trespasser appears to be Santa Clause. In moments, he dies and suddenly disappears, but his suit remains behind. Searching through the suit, they find a business card stating that if something should happen to the man "Santa clause", someone should put on the suit, climb into the sleigh and the reindeer will know what to do. Climbing a ladder, they inspect the roof and find a sleigh and eight reindeer perched atop. The pair get into the sleigh and the reindeer soon liftoff with them aboard. Although he is not happy about the whole situation, Scott puts on the Santa suit to appease his son and begins delivering toys as the deer go from rooftop to rooftop.
The last stop is a seemingly deserted spot in an icy landscape (the North Pole). There Scott is informed that he is the new Santa Claus. While Scott is being argumentative about the responsibilities he seems to have inherited, the head elf, Bernard, shows him a microscopic inscription on the card found in the suit which says that upon the death of the previous occupant, whoever dons the suit assumes the identity of Santa Claus and all the responsibilities that go with it, giving up his previous identity in the process. This is, in fact, the "Santa Clause," as summarized by Bernard: "You put on the suit, you're the big guy.
The Santa Clause has been my favorite Christmas movie since I was younger and it is like a tradition for me to yearly watch this movie around Christmas time. =)
R.I.P O.C.
The O.C. always had a exciting episode each week. It was one of my only favorite shows that i was addicted to for 4 years, and i was so upset to see it end. I ran out to buy each season on DVD so i would be able to watch it whenever i wanted to but it will never be the same, i still wish it was on air.
Cousins by Chance, Best friends by Choice.
Until finally one day my cousin Tiffany was across the street at my grandmothers house with her family. They had all come from a family party which I did not attend. My mother always wanted me to become close with Tiffany but I was always the shy one and never wanted to. I finally got up and went across to go say hi to my grandmother and cousins. I started talking to my cousin Tiffany and we had so many things in common.
It worked out perfect, after spending some time together me and Tiffany exchanged numbers and it ended up she got me a job working with her at a chiropractor's office. We ended up getting so close to each other, we are with each other almost everyday, whether it is between work, going out, sleepovers, or just sending time together. I think it is funny how she has lived 2 blocks away from me almost my whole life and we never really were close till now. I love it, she is not only my cousins by my new best friend.
Christmas Time
But Christmas is not just about exchanging presents, it is about the birth of Jesus. We exchange presents and celebrate this holiday for one reason and one reason only, for Jesus Christ birth. Traditionally every year one Christmas Eve my family and myself go to church to begin Jesus celebration there and we got back home to celebrate it around the dinner table and end the celebration around the Christmas tree.
It is a fun holiday, I love going yearly to the city with my family and friends to go visit the tree and walk around with carolers singing and to see families with smiles on there faces. It is a great time of the year and a wonderful holiday to celebrate.

Spice Girls
The Spice Girls were a the most popular group about 5 or 6 years ago. One day, it was a shock to all that the girls had split. There were 5 of them and one of the lead singers were leaving the group. Many people were disappointed, since everyone was a big fan. The years when on and there were know more songs or new album released of the Spice Girls, they weren't famous anymore. Finally around 5 or 6 years later the Spice Girls are re-united and back in action. On February 13Th,2008 on my birthday I will be going to see one of my favorite girl group, the Spice Girls. They will be preforming and I am excited that they are finally back.

Ending the semester.
I still can not believe how fast my first semester of college went by. It feels as if I have just entered college, and now i am in my 2ND semester almost entering my 2ND year of college which is crazy. I cant believe in two weeks we already have our big break.I love the holidays and am very exciting to spend the Christmas vacation with my family and friends.
Thanksgiving.
On thanksgiving I do not only sit around and eat all day, but i spend memorable moments with my family. We start off with a prayer to thank God for everything and thank God for one another. Then we get to the good part and dig in for a delicious meal. Thanksgiving is held at my house. We usually sit around all day with smiles on our faces and filled of laughter.
I love being around my family and I am thankful i can spend the time sharing and caring for one another as we do on Thanksgiving.

Kids on Campus
Happy Halloween_"Kids on Campus"
On Friday October, 26, my sorority and myself stood after school and volunteered with "Kids on Campus." Kids on Campus is when children all ages dress up in costumes and come on campus and go trick or treating from building to building. It was the first time I did "Kids on Campus" and i enjoyed it. In one building it was a little haunted house set up for the kids with smacks. In every other building there was little toys and candy for the kids.
After the children and there chaperons, which i personally helped out in, went around from building to building they went back to the gym where there was food being service, music, and all different activities going on for the kids. It was fun for the kids and us to. We played games and did arts and crafts with the kids. We played basketball and danced around the gym without a worry in the world. Many of us had a blast playing and enjoying our Friday night with these wonderful children. It brought smiles to our faces to see this innocent little children with big smiles on their faces.
My Work Experiences
Last summer I got my first real job. I worked in a school office. I filed papers and help the principle out in whatever worked that she needed. That was only for the months of July and august. After that I looked all over for a job, but it was a hard thing to find. Finally i applied at many places that had to do with hosting children's parties. I finally found a place, and i loved the job, working and playing with little children. That didn't last to long though, it was hard for me to work the hours that my boss wanted to me, mainly because of school.
Which leads me to today. I currently have two jobs which I love. Over the summer I got a job working as a chiropractor assistant. I got a job working with my cousin. I love my job even though i only work on Tuesday's and Thursday. I recently just found out that in a couple of months I would have to quit my job because of my school schedule in the spring and i am pretty upset about that. Also i work on campus at my school. I work at an alumni office, which i recently got about a month ago. Both of my jobs today are good jobs that i enjoy having.

Happy Halloween
Halloween is a holiday celebrated every year on October 31. There are many traditional activities included on Halloween. Many children or adults dress up in costumes and go around from neighborhoods to neighborhoods and house to house to go trick or treating. Halloween is a fun holiday to celebrate with your friends.
Halloween isn't just for kids anymore. Halloween is a great excuse to get everyone together and have a party. I personally think Halloween is one of the greatest holidays. I enjoy dressing up and getting candy. I don't think you can ever get to old to dress up and go trick or treating. Halloween parties are also a lot of fun. You go and spent a night with your friends and family and get to enjoy watching everyone dressed up in all different costumes having a good time.
Halloween is one holiday where you can be whatever you want and not be judged. It is a spooky and fun holiday. It is a holiday that many people enjoy.

Important Things In Life
My family is my number one aspect in my life. They are the ones that are always there if you have a bad day or if you are upset. My family if my lifeline. It just something I can not stress enough on how much they mean to me. I love my family unconditionally and would nothing without them today.
Friends. My friends and the 2nd most important things in my life. I have had some pretty amazing friends in my lifetime, that know matter what has happened they have always been there for me. I have met many friends along the way but only a few special ones have been there from the very beginning. I have 4 best friends that I know are life time friends. Two+ of them who are named Jamie and Nina are my best friends from the start. I grew up with these 2 girls and till today there are 2 loyal girls who will always be there to share good times with. My other two best friends are my high school best friends. They say you will always have the 1 or 2 high school best friends that you will grow old with. And that is true I found those 2 who I know we will be friends for life.
My summer crew. This Summer 0f 07 I had the most amazing summer, with the most amazing friends. I could sit here all day and write about my best friends and the summer we shared, but that would take to long. There was a summer filled of excited many lifetime memories with so many of my great friends. All that had to sadly come to and end. Summer came and past. I see my best friends on the weekend but I am lucky enough to say I have entered college and I have made so many new friends. I am excited and can't wait to start all the new memories with my old and new friends as this school years continues.
And to me nothing or no one is more important in my life then my family and my friends!
FORGiVE BUT NEVER FORGET !
A terrible tragedy happened 6 years ago. September 11th, 2001, was a day that changed everyones' life forever. As we all known on 9/11/01 we have a terrorist attack. Many lives were desroyed by this horrible acttack.
I remember the day like it was yesterday. I was only in 7th grade, and a teacher had walked into my classroom to tell my teacher that there was a terrorist attack at the Twin Towers. At that point I had know idea what a terrorist attack was, but I knew by my teachers facial expression that it was something to worry about. We tried to continue class like everything was okay, but it wasn't.
Little by little students would be called down to the office and were taken out of class and went home. The number of students in my class kept decreasing and I didn't understand why. I had figured maybe they knew someone in the Twin Towers and there families wanted them home. I figured it was all okay until I got a phone call down to the office, where I saw my older brother standing there picking me up from school.
I was so confused and I had a million questions to ask him. He took me home and explained to me exactly what had happen. I then understood why myself and the rest of my peers were getting picked up and taken home. I didn't know anyone that was in the Twin Towers or that had died on 9/11 but I knew that it was a scary experience to go threw. Watching it on t.v. was just a terrible thing. You were just speechless by looking at it. It was very scary. You had to be careful with everything you did. I remember neighobors coming out saying not to drink the water, and I remember my uncle telling me I wasn't aloud to leave the front of my house. My parents who were at work, were stuck in Brooklyn, and all I wanted was for them to come home. Everything we did had to be together and we all had to be careful, because thankfully it was over but there could have been more terrrible tragics that we were not aware about. 9/11 was a horrible tragic and it will never be forgotten.

THE GREATEST THiNG <3
I am so greatful to have a family that is loving, giving, and always there to put a smile on my face, especially when things are tuff. My grandmother and my uncle lived right across the street from me. They have lived there for mostly more then half of my life. For 13 years they have been living there, besides my parents and brother, my grandmother and my uncles have also always been there for me. My mom, well all I can say is she is more then a mother to me, she is my role model and my bestfriend. I just hope one day I could be just as great of a mother to my children as she is to her children.
Sometimes you take family for granted, I know I sometimes do, but I think everyone does, we are only human. I learned to really appreciate them and everything they do for me. I know sometimes I can get upset and angry because I want to do something and they say i can't, but after being upset I really understand there decision. I understand that they only do this things because they care for me.
I have a family who is everything you can imagine and more. I have a family who I love and respect. I would be nothing without them. I am so thankful to have a family to always be there whenever I need advice or just a smile to brighten up my day. I have a family that I wouldn't trade for the world !

Memory vs Memoir
Memoir, memoir is a record of events that is written by a person having intimate knowledge based on personal observation or imagination. It is a creative nonfiction writing. Usually memoirs is an account of one's personal life and experiences; their autobiography. It is also a biography or a sketch of a biography.Memoir is a work of literature. It can be based on personal experiences and memories. It can also sometimes be falsified. Not everything the author writes about is always true. By writing a memoir you can get lost in a journey from the past about yourself.

Sleep deprivation is caused by not having enough time to get the sleep you need, or it is due to a sleep disorder which disrupts sleep. Sleep deprivation is a common problem that affects almost one-quarter of the adult population. A number of things can cause sleep deprivation, including emotional stress and caffeine intake. There are many causes of sleep deprivation, some symptoms are fatigue, exhaustion, decreased memory and energy levels and more.
Most sleep disorders that cause sleep deprivation have treatment options. We need enough good quality sleep to feel alert during the day, especially during the afternoon. If you have a sleep deprivation you will be very sleepy in the afternoon. Most adults need 7 to 8 hours of sleep per night. People who are well rested feel alert and do not have the urge to nap.
Times Square
Times Square is my favorite place to visit. It is the city that never sleeps. There are many exciting things and places to visit in Times Square. One of my favorite part about New York City is shopping. In time Square it is almost limitless, meaning you can literally “shop till you drop.” The stores offer clothing, electronics, toys, and anything you can imagine is available. You can find anything you are looking for in Times Square.
My personal favorite place to go in Times Square is the great American Chocolate Company. Time Square has the greatest mixes of chocolate that can drive you insane. You don’t need to travel to Pennsylvania to get a Hershey experience, just head to Times Square.Times Square is most famously known for its Broadway plays. There is a variety of entertainment such as musicals, plays on Broadway concerts, offering all forms of music. You can also enjoy a stand up comedy performance of see a movie in the local movie theater. Broadway is the street in New York that has come to symbolize live theater entertainment and musicals throughout the world.
At the start of the first World War, Times square was the center of the Theater district and attracted a large number of visitors, but today it has grown even more.Times Square is important to me because whenever I go to the city that is the first place I look to go. Even though I live so close to the city, every time I go, I feel like it is a new experience.
Best 4 Years of My Life <3
Durning freshman year, a great experience happened to me while I was practicing. A coach from another team came to watch my team practice. It happened to be that he was the coach of a travel team. He pulled me and two other girls to the side and said to us that he had liked the way the we played and wanted us to join his travel team. I was so excited and could not wait to start, the other two girls did not join, which made me a little nervous starting a new team not knowing anyone.
I wanted to join but i thought twice about it since I was joining alone. I finally made up my mind and I wasn't going to let this great experience pass me by. The next week I started to practice with my new travel team and loved it. From there until the senior year I played both soccer for my high shool and for a travel team. I learned so many things, meet so many new people, and realized there is nothing I love to do more but play soccer and be with my teammates.
After all those good times it had to come to an end. Leaving my teammates was the hardest thing I had to do. I remember for high school, our last game was the biggest game ever, we played a team who was really good but as a team we knew we could win it all. It ended up the we lost the game by and false call that the referee had made. It was the hardest game we played. As a team we played amazing but it all came to an end when the whistle blew and time was up. Knowing it was the final game was hard, and knowing we were seniors and we would never play again was the saddest thing. Leaving my travel team and saying our goodbyes wasn't as easy, we played a very good final game and won. Even though we all knew we would never be able to play agin, we all knew we would all meet up along the roads and play soccer for fun. Those four years of playing soccer, were the best years of my life.

Why I Write
Many people write for numerous reasons. They write for theirs and other enjoyment. They write to use their imagination and express their feelings. They write because there is no limit in writing and by writing you can escape into your own world without being judged.
In my opinion I think that writing out your feelings isn’t the best way to express yourself. I feel that being able to talk to others is a better way of communicating. I understand that some people like writing to each other because then they don’t have to confront there fear of being shy. Not only is it important to be able to speak to others but it is something that is needed as a part of everyday life. There’s an expression you “you learn something new everyday” this is true because when you speak to new a person you learn from them and there mistakes.
